OREANDA-NEWS  The press secretary of the head of the Russian state Dmitry Peskov did not say whether Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the possibility of his participation in the upcoming BRICS summit at a meeting with the leader of the Republic of South Africa (South Africa) Cyril Ramaposa. At the same time, the Kremlin representative confirmed that, in general, preparations for the event were on the agenda of the conversation.

"The issues of preparation for the upcoming summit were on the agenda. The discussion continues," Peskov said in response to a question whether Putin's participation in this forum was discussed at the highest level and whether there are already decisions in this regard.

The BRICS Summit (Russia, Brazil, India, China, South Africa) will be held in South Africa at the end of August.
