OREANDA-NEWS Foreign companies that left Russia have left niches that were quickly occupied by domestic business, the remaining companies continue to contribute to the development of the Russian economy, Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, told reporters.

Earlier, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said that 75.9% of foreign companies remained in Russia, and those who left the Russian market suffer billions of dollars in costs.

"Of course, there are companies (foreign - ed.) that have remained in our market. Someone left, someone stayed," Peskov said, adding that the departed companies "could not leave a void behind them, because the market is so arranged that it fills up instantly."According to him, this void is filled by representatives of Russian business. "We see that our business also behaves very quickly, occupies these niches that are being formed," he said.

Peskov added that any company that operates on the Russian market - domestic or foreign - contributes to a greater or lesser extent "to the development of our national economy, that is, the economy."
