OREANDA-NEWS  In the village of Karata in the Akhvakhsky district of Dagestan, 100 kilograms of potatoes were planted, which were presented to the republic by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. This is reported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the region.

According to the chairman of the International Public Association "Goro" Khizri Asadulayev, who brought a gift from Lukashenko, before planting, the garden was plowed with a plow, as in the old days. The event was attended by village elders and youth. The women symbolically watered the planted potatoes from jugs.

After the harvest, a festival of Belarusian draniki will be held in the village in the spring, which, according to the ministry, will strengthen friendship between the two peoples.

Earlier it was reported that Dagestan will open the largest egg incubation plant in the republic. The incubator will appear in the village of Botayurt, Khasavyurt district, famous for the traditions of poultry farming. The workshop will be able to produce up to 10 million day-old chickens per year.
