OREANDA-NEWS  Figure skater Evgeny Plushenko believes that Moscow deserves a new state-of-the-art circus. At the same time, it is important that the residents' opinion about the preservation of the historic building on Vernadsky Avenue was also taken into account, the athlete said in an interview with the Moscow Says radio station.

"I am sure that Moscow, which has been famous for its circus traditions for many years, deserves a new state—of-the-art circus," Plushenko said. The skater also considered it important that the authorities did not ignore the desire of Muscovites to preserve the historic building in the southwest of the capital.

"I know from my own experience that all over the world, audiences are spoiled by colorful performances with modern effects and audience engagement. I am sure that the new circus building will be filled with everything necessary to hold world—class performances and performances," the athlete emphasized.

Earlier, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced that a new Large Moscow Circus would be built on the island of Mnevnikovskaya floodplain in the northwest of the city. Now Muscovites are invited to vote on the architectural appearance of the building. Not only adult residents of the city, but also children can participate in the voting.
