OREANDA-NEWS Russian Presidential aide for Foreign Policy Affairs Yuri Ushakov said that Vladimir Putin plans to visit Turkey at the invitation of Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The dates of the trip, according to him, have not yet been determined.

"The Turkish President has confirmed his invitation to our President to visit Turkey. There are plans, but specific deadlines have not yet been discussed," Mr. Ushakov told Interfax.

On May 31, the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan intend to meet "in the foreseeable future." According to him, this intention was confirmed during their recent telephone conversation. It is unknown where and when the meeting may take place.

Turkish media reported that the Kremlin considered the possibility of Vladimir Putin's trip to the inauguration of Mr. Erdogan, but in the end Russia was represented at the event by the speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.
