OREANDA-NEWS  Russian President Vladimir Putin has authorized the reorganization of Unicredit Bank with the separation of a separate company, which will remain owned by the Italian UniCredit group, as well as the sale of shares in the credit institution, follows from the order on the portal of the official publication of legal acts.

"To authorize the reorganization of Unicredit Bank Joint Stock Company in the form of a separation of a business entity with the receipt of its shares (shares in the authorized capital) by the sole shareholder of the said joint stock company; transactions for the acquisition of one hundred percent of the shares of Unicredit Bank joint stock Company owned by Unicredit S.P.A.," the document says.

The Italian banking group Unicredit announced in 2022 that it was considering leaving Russia. Since then, the group has made a number of attempts to sell its Russian business, but without success.
