OREANDA-NEWS Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed confidence that the Russian T-90 Breakthrough tank is the best in the world today, but set the task to develop new types of equipment.

During a conversation with Uralvagonzavod workers, the head of state noted that "some of the equipment will go away," citing as an example the T-62 and T-72 tanks developed in Soviet times. "We need new modern equipment, including such machines that you make, the T-90 Breakthrough," Putin addressed the company's employees.

In his opinion, the T-90 Breakthrough tank is "the best tank in the world without any exaggeration." "And our guys say tankers, and the enemy recognizes the same thing - the best car in the world," Putin said, adding that this car "needs to be developed."

"We will have to think about new generations of technology," Putin said. According to him, "design engineers know what needs to be worked on, and they are already working today."
