OREANDA-NEWS  Russian President Vladimir Putin has asked Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut whether prices for agricultural products can be expected to stabilize. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

"We can count on the stabilization of prices [of agricultural products], right?" the Russian president asked.

At the same time, Lut noted that prices for vegetables are now moving in different directions — prices for some types of food are increasing, while prices for others are decreasing.

Earlier it was reported that by the end of last year, potatoes became the leader in price growth among food products — in 12 months they rose in price by 92 percent. In the first quarter of 2025, the trend continues, which forced the Ministry of Agriculture to think about a new doubling of the quota for duty-free import of products to 300 thousand tons. Since the beginning of the year, potato imports to Russia have increased 3.5 times. In particular, the volume of supplies from China soared 26 times.
