Putin dismissed the governor of the Novgorod region

OREANDA-NEWS Russian President Vladimir Putin has dismissed Andrey Nikitin from the post of governor of the Novgorod Region, signing a corresponding decree, the Kremlin said. It is specified that the head of the region resigns at his own request. Nikitin has been in charge of the region since the fall of 2017.
To accept the resignation of the Governor of the Novgorod Region, Alexander Nikitin, at his own request in connection with his transfer to another job," the presidential decree says.
The document comes into force on the date of its signing — February 7. The Kremlin did not specify what kind of work Nikitin would do.
Nikitin was born on November 26, 1979 in Moscow, where he received higher education. During his studies, he interned at the Russian State Duma. He worked in the company Blok Black LLC for the production and sale of computer components and office equipment from 2000 to 2001. Then he served as General Director for the development of the Teremok restaurant chain. He worked at the Neftegazinvest investment company. From 2002 to 2011, he worked at Ruskomposite Group of Companies.
Earlier, the president dismissed the deputy head of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation Vsevolod Vukolov, who had held this post since 2021. Putin also signed a document on the state's accession to the governing body of the Voluntary Society for Assistance to the Army, Aviation and Navy (DOSAAF).
