OREANDA-NEWS  Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law on increasing fines for low quality housing and communal services (HCS). The document is published on the website of the official publication of legal acts.

Resource-supplying organizations will be punished for such violations. Thus, administrative penalties for officials will increase to 5-10 thousand rubles, and for legal entities — up to 30-50 thousand rubles. For repeated violations, the fine will reach 10-30 thousand rubles and 50-100 thousand rubles, respectively.

Earlier, the All-Russian Union of Insurers proposed adding a new line to the bills for housing and communal services (HCS) — on voluntary housing insurance.

Experts suggest giving Russians a choice — to put or not to put a check mark next to this line. The measure will allow to remove intermediaries from the process and make the insurance product cheaper for citizens, the BCC explained. Under such conditions, the average cost of a policy for a room with an area of 55 square meters can be at the level of 50 rubles per month.
