OREANDA-NEWS  On August 4, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on price monitoring along the entire food supply chain, from the manufacturer to the store, aimed at timely identifying the causes of the sharp rise in food prices. The document, which will enter into force on January 1, 2027, has been officially published.

In accordance with its provisions, the Government of the Russian Federation is authorized to approve the list of departments authorized to receive information from the Federal Tax Service on companies and entrepreneurs involved in the food trade and related services.

Data on sales volumes, amounts of income, expenses and profits of business entities will begin to be tracked according to those items that Rosstat takes into account when calculating inflation indicators. The relevant information will be used by agencies designated by the Cabinet of Ministers when monitoring, evaluating and comprehensively analyzing the dynamics and factors of price formation without the possibility of disclosure, except in cases established by the Tax Code.

The plans of the Ministry of Industry and Trade to open access to trade and supplier data that constitute a tax secret became known in the fall of 2025. In this regard, it was about audit reports, consolidated financial statements and other documents.
