Putin signs law on "garage amnesty"

OREANDA-NEWS Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the law of deputies from United Russia ("EP") on the extension of the "garage amnesty" until September 2031. This is reported on the EP website.
Earlier, the chairman of the party, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, instructed the faction in the State Duma to consider and adopt this law as a matter of priority.
The publication notes that the mechanism allows for the simplified and legal execution of purchase and sale transactions, barter, donations, and the transfer of such objects by inheritance. During the period of operation of the law, Russians have registered in a simplified manner more than 700 thousand objects.
"In order to register ownership of garages built before the end of 2004 and the land under them, one application is required to local governments with documents confirming the right to it," the message says. Property can be registered not only by users of such facilities, but also by their heirs or persons who bought a garage from them.
The Garage Amnesty has been in effect since September 1, 2021. On July 21, it became known that State Duma deputies unanimously passed a law extending the "garage amnesty."
