OREANDA-NEWS  The opposite content of the memoranda of the Russian Federation and Ukraine was expected, Russian President Vladimir Putin told reporters.

"As for the memoranda, as expected, nothing unexpected happened. I won't tell you anything unexpected. These are two absolutely opposite memoranda," the president said. He stressed that negotiations are being organized and conducted in order to seek ways of rapprochement. "And the fact that they were exactly the opposite, it seems to me that there is nothing surprising either," Putin added.

The President added that he would not like to elaborate on this topic, "because he considers it inappropriate, even harmful, to pre-empt the negotiations themselves."
