OREANDA-NEWS  Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the creation of an international territory of advanced development in the Trans-Baikal Territory, the press service of the regional government reported.

"The governor of the Trans-Baikal Territory, Alexander Osipov, as part of the defense of the master plan of the city of Chita, proposed to create an international territory of advanced development, he was supported by President Vladimir Putin," the press release says.

It is specified that the international territory of advanced development is a production and logistics complex. Most of the cargo without any processing, without involving production facilities, is transported to the largest logistics centers in Moscow, and then it travels back across the country. The international territory of advanced development will provide conditions for accelerating the turnover of operations.

"The International Priority Development Area is a unique opportunity that will provide special administrative conditions for ongoing projects. It's not just about Chinese investments, it can be business from Mongolia, India, any friendly country. The creation of the MTOR will become a driver of the region's growth, will attract investments to the region," Vladimir Petrakov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Transbaikalia, was quoted in the press service.
International production and logistics TOR implies special administrative and customs conditions, technical regulation, protection of investors' rights and a management system taking into account the best international practices.
