OREANDA-NEWS  Russia supports the decision to create the CIS+ format within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the summit of the leaders of the association countries, TASS reports.

"We support the decision taken today in principle to create a new format of work — CIS+," the Russian head of state said.

According to him, the new format will make it possible to more actively involve other states in the activities of the CIS.

Earlier, the presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan, Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev, hugged at an informal meeting after talks in Dushanbe. The meeting was held on Thursday evening, October 9, at the government residence in Dushanbe for the heads of the CIS member states.
