OREANDA-NEWS  The issue of increasing the transit of Russian oil through Kazakhstan will be discussed during the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Astana, energy will be one of the key topics, Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said.

"Energy issues will be discussed, of course, there, undoubtedly. Energy is one of the key issues that we intend to discuss. Plus, this is an area where our countries cooperate most actively," Ushakov told reporters when asked if plans to increase the transit of Russian oil through Kazakhstan would be discussed.

He noted that the forecasts that Russia is building in this regard are very optimistic.

Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay a state visit to Kazakhstan on May 27-29. He plans to talk with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on Wednesday evening, and take part in the EAEU summit on Thursday.
