OREANDA-NEWS  Currently, in the new regions of Russia, where there is no fighting, everything has already been cleaned up and is generally "clean". This was told by President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with the Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova, writes TASS.

In a conversation with the minister, the Russian leader noted the importance of restoring social and cultural facilities in the new regions. At the same time, he pointed out that in that part of the regions "where it is now more or less stable," everything has been cleaned up and is gradually getting better.

Lyubimova, in turn, read Putin a report on cultural figures who want to support the fighters and residents of the LPR, DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. In response, the president said that "this is very important." "It is equally important to restore the material base itself," he noted.

On February 24, the start of a special operation in Donbass was announced. Thus, Russia responded to requests for military assistance from the heads of the DPR and LPR. Later, in September 2022, in the DPR and the LPR, as well as in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, a vote was held on the accession of the regions to Russia.

On October 5, the President of Russia signed laws on the admission of new territories to the Russian Federation. Now residents of the new regions have been recognized as Russian citizens since the day the territories were incorporated into Russia on September 30, and the total number of regions of the country has grown from 85 to 89.
