OREANDA-NEWS  Russian President Vladimir Putin recalled that for eight years Russia had been trying to peacefully resolve all the problems in Donbas, but the West had deceived Moscow, and now it was accusing it of aggression. The words of the Russian leader are reported by TASS.

"We have been trying for eight years to come to an agreement to resolve this issue peacefully. We were deceived, and they publicly admitted it again — both the former German chancellor and the former French president publicly said that they were not going to implement the Minsk agreements," Putin said. He recalled that the purpose of signing the agreements for Western countries was to pump Ukraine with weapons.

In this regard, the President noted, Russia was forced to use armed forces to recognize the independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics in accordance with the UN Charter. However, according to him, no one pays attention to this.
