Putin will deliver a Message to the Federal Assembly

OREANDA-NEWS Russian President Vladimir Putin will address the Federal Assembly with his annual Address on Thursday, February 29.
Speaking at the Agency for Strategic Initiatives forum, the head of state said that the Message would set tasks for at least the next six years.
Nevertheless, the specifics of the Message are traditionally kept secret until the moment of announcement.
The President of the Russian Federation annually addresses the Federal Assembly with a Message in which he summarizes the results and sets strategic guidelines for the future. In addition to members of the State Duma and the Federation Council, regional leaders, members of the government, the Central Executive Committee, the Public and Accounting Chambers, representatives of major faiths, state-owned companies, and journalists are usually invited to it.
On the eve of the press secretary of the president Dmitry Peskov, in an interview with journalists, clarified that representatives of some foreign media will cover the Message on the spot.
In 2022, when the special military operation in Ukraine began, there was a break in the announcement of the Messages. At that time, the president himself explained this by the dynamically developing situation, which did not allow fixing the results and plans for the future at a specific moment in time.
In the 2018 election year, Putin devoted a significant part of the time of the Message to a story about promising types of weapons that appeared in Russia. It was then that the world learned about the latest complexes "Avangard", "Sarmat", "Dagger" and others.
At the same time, Peskov stated that the Message would become the basis of Putin's election campaign. And the CEC noted that its announcement on the eve of the elections is not a violation of election legislation. As Nikolai Bulaev, deputy head of the Central Election Commission, explained to Interfax at the time, the Message is not agitation, "it is an analysis of the president's work."
In recent years, Putin has delivered a Message to the Federal Assembly in the Manege, but in 2019 he announced it in Gostiny Dvor.
