OREANDA-NEWS  The certificate of an aircraft developer from the low-cost airline Pobeda (part of the Aeroflot group) has been suspended, according to the Rosaviation website.

"Pobeda Airlines LLC... FAVT-R-79 has been suspended since 10.11.2023," the website says.

Rosaviation reported in January that the low-cost airline Pobeda (part of the Aeroflot group) received an aircraft developer certificate. Similar certificates were issued to a number of Russian companies amid difficulties with aircraft maintenance due to Western sanctions.

Western countries have imposed tough anti-Russian sanctions in connection with the special operation to demilitarize Ukraine. In particular, the EU banned the supply of civil aircraft and spare parts to the Russian Federation, and obliged lessors to terminate contracts with Russian airlines. Aircraft maintenance and insurance services were also banned. In addition, the European Union, the United States, Canada and a number of other countries have closed the skies for Russian aircraft.
