OREANDA-NEWS Russia, in the context of a special military operation, does not seek to increase arms sales abroad. This was stated by Rosoboronexport CEO Alexander Mikheev in an interview with RIA Novosti during the Dubai Airshow 2023.

Prior to the start of the SVO, Rosoboronexport consistently ranked second in the world in terms of arms exports with sales of about $13 billion per year.

Mikheev stressed that now the primary task of the Russian military-industrial complex is to meet the needs of the Russian Armed Forces.

"This is not the time to talk about the competition for a place on the world market and the desire to increase the volume of exports of Russian products," said the CEO of Rosoboronexport.

At the same time, he noted that currently the Russian special exporter ensures the loading of domestic defense enterprises in the future.

Rosoboronexport is also intensively working on the formation of a portfolio of technology contracts that will bear fruit after the start of joint ventures abroad, Mikheev said.
