OREANDA-NEWS  Alexander Sinelnikov, Professor of the Department of Family Sociology and Demography at the Faculty of Sociology of Moscow State University, supported the point of view of American billionaire and entrepreneur, founder of SpaceX and Tesla Elon Musk that the world is in danger of demographic collapse. The scientist said this in an interview with the Zvezda TV channel.

"The birth rate is declining everywhere, and there are no signs that it will stop at the level of simple generational replacement," Sinelnikov said, noting that today there are no signs of an increase in the birth rate in the future "at least to the level of simple generational replacement."

According to the professor, the world's population may decrease by almost a billion people by the year 2100.

Earlier, Musk stated on his page on the social network X that demographic collapse is the biggest problem facing humanity.
