OREANDA-NEWS  Another group of Russian servicemen has been returned from Ukrainian captivity, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Thursday.

"In return, a group of prisoners of war of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been transferred," the ministry said in a statement.

According to him, the exchange took place on June 12 in accordance with the Russian-Ukrainian agreements reached in Istanbul on June 2.

On Thursday, the Ministry released footage of Russian soldiers released from Ukrainian captivity.

They are in Belarus, they are receiving psychological and medical assistance, the agency said. "All Russian military personnel will be transported to the Russian Federation for treatment and rehabilitation in medical institutions of the Russian Ministry of Defense," the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

On June 9, the ministry announced that the first group of Russian soldiers under the age of 25 had been returned from Ukrainian captivity as part of the exchange. "In return, a similar number of prisoners of war were transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the message said.

On June 10, the second group of Russian servicemen was returned from Ukrainian captivity, and in return, a group of Ukrainian Armed Forces prisoners of war was transferred to Ukraine.

On June 11, Russian Presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky said that Russia had transferred 1,212 bodies of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers to Ukraine and received 27 bodies of its military as part of the agreements reached in Istanbul.

Medinsky then announced in a telegram channel that urgent "sanitary exchanges" of seriously wounded prisoners from the front line should begin on June 12.

Russian-Ukrainian agreements on the exchange of prisoners of war were reached in Istanbul on June 2. Two categories of prisoners are subject to the exchange of "all for all" - the wounded and seriously ill, as well as persons under the age of 25.

The Ministry of Defense earlier reported that Russia is ready to launch a large-scale humanitarian action to repatriate more than 6 thousand bodies of dead Ukrainian servicemen.
