OREANDA-NEWS  The development of the negotiations on Ukraine in New York has shown that the atmosphere around the settlement is changing. This was stated by Senator of the Federation Council Grigory Karasin, whose words "Газета.ги ".

Karasin is a member of the Russian delegation to the high-level week of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York. According to him, the parties are now on the right track, but the situation is currently controlled by NATO and the West.

"The situation is not easy, but in my opinion, we are on the right track. This course must be continued and completed with a truly long—term peaceful settlement," the politician explained.

Earlier, Alexey Chepa, deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Relations, said that progress was being made in the negotiation process on Ukraine.

On September 23, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio at the UN General Assembly. They discussed the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and the bilateral relations between the United States and Russia.
