OREANDA-NEWS  The Consulate General of Russia in Alma-Ata sent a note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan with a request to refrain from expedited extradition to the United States of the head of network security business development F.A.C.C.T. Nikita Kislitsyn. This was reported to TASS by the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Alma-Ata Evgeny Bobrov.

"The Consulate General sent a note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan. It contained three positions. First, due to the fact that we have received this information, to clarify all the circumstances of the detention of a Russian citizen. The second is to ensure that a consular officer has access to a detained Russian citizen. Third, we have asked the Foreign Ministry to refrain from expediting the extradition of a Russian citizen to the United States," the Consul General said, answering a question about Kislitsyn.

According to Bobrov, Kislitsyn was detained on June 22 at the airport of Alma-Ata. "As of today, we have received so far only a note that his detention took place at the request of Interpol initiated by the United States. The task of the Russian Consulate General is to protect the interests of a Russian citizen.

"Information about the detention has been transferred to the Russian law enforcement agencies in accordance with the established procedure. Work has begun between Moscow and Astana on this issue," he explained.
