OREANDA-NEWS Russian Ambassador to Indonesia Sergey Tolchenov at a meeting with the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Air Force, Tonny Harjono, discussed the possibility of cooperation between the countries in the field of air defense technologies, the Indonesian Air Force reported.

According to the statement, at the meeting, the parties discussed various aspects of strategic cooperation, including educational and training programs, officer exchange, and opportunities for cooperation in the field of air defense technology.

"Russia, as one of Indonesia's defense partners, plays an important role in supporting the modernization of defense equipment of the Indonesian Air Force through technology transfer and increased combat capabilities in the air," the ministry noted.

According to him, the meeting was an "important impetus" in strengthening bilateral relations in the field of air defense between Indonesia and Russia.

"This visit reflects the commitment of the Indonesian Air Force to establish constructive international relations in line with efforts to strengthen Indonesia's air defense at the global level," said Ardi Siahri, head of the Indonesian Air Force Information Service, in an official statement.
