OREANDA-NEWS  This year, the Kazan Aircraft Factory, the manufacturer of the Tu-214 aircraft developed in the Soviet Union, will be able to assemble and transfer to the customer only one of the three planned airliners, and its operation will begin in 2024. Kommersant writes about this with reference to several sources.

At the same time, one of them claims that the aircraft is at the final assembly stage, and the other talks about the technical acceptance process. They also differ in information about the customer — the special flight detachment "Russia" or the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The program for the development of the civil aviation industry until 2030, adopted in June last year, provided for the delivery of three Tu-214 aircraft by the end of 2023, so the manufacturer will no longer be able to fulfill the plan.

The source of the publication in the industry notes that there are still no firm contracts for this liner in the industry. The company is confused by both the high fuel consumption and the crew of three people.

Rostec, the parent company of the enterprise, announced the beginning of the development of a version of the liner, for which two crew members will be enough to control, but its tests, subject to deadlines, will begin no earlier than 2026. By this time, it is planned to supply the customer with several dozen Tu-214 in the current version.
