OREANDA-NEWS By the end of April 2026, the total volume of peanuts shipments from Brazil to Russia increased by 14.5 percent month-on-month and reached almost eight million dollars in monetary terms. RIA Novosti reports on a sharp increase in exports of popular nuts from the BRICS country to the Russian Federation, citing data from the local statistical service.
During the reporting period, suppliers from a Latin American country shipped peanuts to Russia totaling $7.9 million. For comparison, in March the figure was at the level of 6.9 million. Thus, in the first month of spring, the value of exports increased by one million dollars.
This dynamic has allowed Russia to retain its status as the largest importer of Brazilian peanuts. Algeria took the second place in the rating with a result of 6.7 million dollars, and the Netherlands closed the top three (1.9 million).
Brazil has also significantly increased pork supplies to Russia this year. In January, the value of exports increased 7-fold compared to the same period in 2025 and reached $ 1.7 million. In the first month of the year, the figure increased by more than 1.45 million. Despite this, Russia has lagged far behind the world's leading importers of Brazilian pork — the Philippines, Japan and Hong Kong.
