OREANDA-NEWS  Direct elections of regional heads were held in Mordovia, Chechnya, Tuva, Belgorod, Bryansk, Tver, Penza and Ulyanovsk regions. The heads of two more subjects — Karachay-Cherkessia and North Ossetia — were elected by deputies of the regional parliaments.

Artyom Zdunov ("United Russia") scored 77.79% of the vote in Mordovia, beating his rivals by a significant margin. Alexander Alexandrov (KPRF) received 7.78%, Evgeny Tyurin (LDPR) — 7.44%, Timur Geraskin ("Fair Russia") — 3.85%, Dmitry Masserov ("Green") — 2.08%. Zdunov has served as the head of Mordovia since September 2021.

Ramzan Kadyrov ("United Russia") has been the head of Chechnya since April 2011. He retained his post in the election, gaining 99.85% of the vote. Candidates Ismail Denilkhanov ("Fair Russia") and Khalid Nakaev (KPRF) received only 0.05% of the votes.

Vladislav Khovalyg ("United Russia") took over the post of head of Tuva in September 2021, and won 90.95% of the vote in this year's elections. "Egor" Chistyakov (LDPR), Artysh Irgit ("New People"), Lodoi-Damba Kuular (KPRF), and Asiat Changzan ("Fair Russia") were also nominated as candidates for the post of head of the region — each of them received less than three percent of the vote.
