OREANDA-NEWS To combat empty wagons at portside stations, the Ministry of Transport proposed changing the rules for their movement. The relevant draft government decree has been published on the portal of regulatory legal acts.

As noted by RBC, the document could be a reaction to the request of the Russian Steel Association, which spoke about the need to give Russian Railways the opportunity to remove empty wagons standing idle on the access roads of enterprises and ports. Currently, they are preventing the cargo from being transported. Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak later instructed to work out the issue.
