OREANDA-NEWS  By the end of 2023, the trade turnover between Russia and Bangladesh increased by 16.5 percent and reached $2.7 billion. This was stated by the Russian Ambassador to the South Asian Republic, Alexander Mantytsky, his words are quoted by TASS.

Bangladesh is Russia's second largest trade and economic partner in South Asia, he said. Over the past decade, cooperation between the two countries has been actively developing, which has allowed for a multiple increase in trade turnover. At the same time, bilateral trade is showing positive dynamics despite the "current global obstacles."

The key areas of trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Bangladesh, the ambassador added, are energy and agriculture. However, the partnership is not limited to these industries. In order to further increase trade turnover, in his opinion, countries should develop B2B (business-to-business) ties to a greater extent and actively establish direct links between business communities.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the expansion of economic cooperation with another Asian country. Thus, Russia's investments in the economy of Uzbekistan have reached the level of $ 10 billion. At the same time, direct investments in this republic are growing on an annual basis, he concluded.
