OREANDA-NEWS  Russia, China and Iran supported and continue to support the agreement on the nuclear deal (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, JCPOA), their position has not changed after the US withdrawal from the agreement, according to a joint statement by the three countries issued as part of the agenda of the sixth meeting of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

On the eve of the Agence France-Presse reported, citing diplomatic sources, that France, Germany and the United Kingdom (Eurotroika) officially submitted to the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) a resolution condemning the alleged "nuclear escalation" of Iran.

"Our countries have consistently provided strong support to the JCPOA... Our support for the nuclear deal has not changed since 2018, when the United States illegally and unilaterally withdrew from this agreement, and the imposition of unilateral illegal sanctions and the implementation of a policy of maximum pressure on Iran became a turning point for this agreement," the Tasnim agency quotes the text of the joint statement of the three countries.
