OREANDA-NEWS The Russian side expects from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) objective assessments of compliance with the safety principles of the Zaporozhye NPP, formulated earlier by the Agency's Director General Rafael Grossi, the representative of the Russian Federation to international organizations in Vienna Mikhail Ulyanov told RIA Novosti.

"We expect that the principles formulated by Rafael Grossi and, in particular, the one that provides for the inadmissibility of any attacks on the NPP, will contribute to strengthening security at this facility. It goes without saying that we also expect the Agency to make objective assessments of compliance with these principles, especially since the Director General of the IAEA in his statement to the UN Security Council on May 30 made a corresponding commitment," the Russian Permanent Representative said.

On Thursday, the Agency's CEO and his team arrived at the NPP. As Grossi told reporters, during his visit he intends to assess the situation at the Zaporozhye NPP and to rotate the agency's experts, appointing an enhanced group. This is the third trip of the IAEA mission headed by its Director General to the facility since September last year.
