OREANDA-NEWS  Members of the Federation Council and deputies of the LDPR faction have created a bill "On a certificate for a newborn child", within which they called for the introduction of a new type of state support for low-income families. Izvestia writes about this, referring to the text of the document.

The initiative that the LDPR parliamentarians planned to introduce in Russia is a certificate. It can be spent on essential goods for a newborn, the nominal value will be about 30 thousand rubles. The LDPR proposed to issue a certificate to families with incomes below two regional subsistence minimums.

"Now we need to take any measures to support families with children, especially if we are talking about newborns," said Yaroslav Nilov, head of the State Duma Committee on Labor and Social Policy.

Nina Ostanina, head of the Duma Committee on Family, Women and Children, added that such a measure should be introduced for all Russian families. In her opinion, such assistance cannot be superfluous.

In November 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin gave instructions to the government to support families with children. He called on the regions to support payments in connection with the birth and upbringing of a child.
