Russia reacted to Kiev's refusal to take prisoners

OREANDA-NEWS Russian Senator Sergei Perminov reacted to Kiev's refusal to take prisoners, calling such a position a betrayal of the people. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
"Kiev's refusal to exchange its own citizens is a cold, cynical calculation and an outright betrayal of its people," the politician said.
Perminov also pointed out the reason why Kiev refuses to take prisoners. According to him, this is a desire to prolong the conflict in order to receive new Western funding.
"And large—scale exchanges will show readiness for dialogue, which will destroy their myth of Russia's 'non-negotiability,'" the agency's interlocutor concluded.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Human Rights under the President of Russia, Yana Lantratova, said that Ukraine often refuses offers to exchange its citizens. According to her information, Moscow has sent three exchange lists to Kiev over the past month.
In early June, Ukraine unexpectedly and indefinitely postponed the prisoner exchange. Vladimir Medinsky, an aide to the Russian leader, said that shortly before that, a group of the Russian Ministry of Defense was sent to the border with Ukraine.
