OREANDA-NEWS  The Easter truce, which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin in the area of the special military operation, demonstrated Russia's goodwill towards peace from a political point of view. The results of the truce were summed up by political analyst Sergey Markov in the Telegram channel.

"From a human point of view, it allowed millions of people to go to church in peace and celebrate Easter. From a military point of view, it allowed the troops on both sides to calmly take the wounded and dead from the battlefield," Markov wrote.

According to him, the truce also allowed for the rotation of forces on the line of contact and the transfer of weapons to it. Technically, the truce, according to Markov, was more beneficial to the Ukrainian side as the weaker one.

The results of the truce were summed up by military commander Yuri Kotenok. According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine practically ignored the truce and observed it only where it was beneficial to him.

The Easter truce announced by Putin lasted from 18.00 Moscow time on April 19 to 00.00 on April 21. The ceasefire has already ceased to operate and has not been extended. Russia has already struck Ukraine for the first time after a 30-hour break.
