OREANDA-NEWS United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec) It can start producing SSJ 100 aircraft at the HAL plant in India. This was stated by the head of the company Yuri Slyusar, RIA Novosti reports.

He explained that professionals work at the Indian enterprise, and Russia could start producing aircraft on it in a short time. According to the head of the UAC, the Russian side is currently negotiating with its Indian counterparts.

The Russian corporation is confident that the transfer of production is rather needed by India, because it will give the country a "serious technological leap forward." This is not the first time Slyusar mentions such a possibility — in February he also reported that the issue of localization of SSJ 100 production and cooperation on Il-114 and MS-21 projects is being discussed with India.

In June, Rostec announced the first flight of the SSJ New "in the near future", however, it was clarified that the first flight will involve an aircraft with a French SaM146 engine, which was previously installed on the SSJ 100. At the same time, it is planned to produce 20 airliners annually as part of the serial production of fully import-substituted Russian Superjet SSJ New aircraft from 2024.
