OREANDA-NEWS  Russia plans to sign an agreement with the CIS countries on cooperation in the exchange of radiation monitoring data, including in the event of a threat or occurrence of transboundary transfer of radioactive substances on the territories of the Commonwealth states, including from third states, the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation on this was published on Monday on the official portal of legal acts.

The Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation approved the draft of this agreement submitted by the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation and agreed with the Russian Foreign Ministry. As follows from the order, the agreement is scheduled to be signed at a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS countries.

The objectives of the agreement are the organization of interaction of authorized (competent) bodies on the exchange of data on monitoring the radiation situation in the territories of the CIS states, the provision and receipt of data and information on the state of the radiation situation and its changes in the Commonwealth countries, the exchange of data on monitoring the radiation situation in the event of a threat or occurrence of transboundary transfer of radioactive substances in the territories of the CIS states, including from the territories of third states.
