OREANDA-NEWS  The action of the national project "Tourism and the hospitality industry" will be extended to new regions of the country. The development of the project was announced by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko during a meeting held by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

"This year, the Ministry of Economic Development will continue to implement measures of the national project "Tourism and Hospitality Industry". I emphasize that they will also apply to new territories. We are rapidly integrating them, as instructed by the president," he said.

Chernyshenko noted that in 2022 55 thousand participants of the platform "Russia is a country of opportunities" and the Russian Society "Knowledge" took advantage of the program "More than a journey". It is planned that in 2023 more than 70 thousand people will join the program, the financing of the project will be increased from two to three billion rubles.

In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister said that in 2023 the implementation of major projects in the Altai, the Far East and other regions of the country will continue with the involvement of the resource of the corporation "Tourism.RF". The project "New Anapa", an all—Russian family year-round resort, will also be launched.

Earlier in January, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said that the tourist flow in Russia during the winter holidays increased by 10-15 percent over the year, to more than 12 million people. "Hotel occupancy was also high on average — from 70 percent to 95 percent," he estimated.
