OREANDA-NEWS  The government intends to impose duties on the labeling of goods within the framework of the Honest Sign system, and then direct the funds received to finance the state programs "Development of the Electronic and Radioelectronic Industry" and "Scientific and Technological Development of Russia." This is reported by Vedomosti with reference to the draft federal budget and draft amendments to the Tax Code, introduced at the end of September.

It is assumed that you will have to pay for the fact that information about the turnover of goods is entered into the Honest Mark labeling system. The amount of the fee itself is not indicated in the documents.

A large number of product categories are subject to mandatory labeling in Russia, and new items regularly appear on the list. At the beginning of October, alcohol and tobacco products, dairy products, medicines, veterinary goods, medical products, and certain light industry goods cannot be sold without a brand.

The cost of a stamp per product is 50 kopecks excluding VAT. In addition, the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (CRPT; operator of the Honest Sign) charges three thousand rubles for the introduction of a new product into circulation. Leonid Konik, CEO of ComNews Group, pointed out that manufacturers and importers spend billions of rubles a month on labeling.
