OREANDA-NEWS Russia will respond with mirror actions to Warsaw's decision to restrict the movement of Russian diplomats in Poland, Russian Ambassador to Warsaw Sergey Andreev said.

"This will create certain inconveniences, they will not be of a critical nature. It's just another step towards complicating the work of our diplomatic and consular missions in Poland, and for the work of our Polish colleagues in Russia, because, of course, mirror retaliatory actions will follow from the Russian side," he said on the Rossiya 24 TV channel.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the Russian Embassy in Warsaw received a note on May 28 restricting the free movement of Russian diplomats. From June 1, the Russian Federation will have to notify the Polish Foreign Ministry in advance of the intention of employees of the Russian Embassy in Warsaw, as well as Consulates General in Gdansk, Krakow and Poznan to leave the voivodeships. Exceptions are made for the Ambassador, the Consul General and the head of the consular department of the embassy.
