OREANDA-NEWS  Specialists from the repair battalion in the rear area of the special military operation zone (SVO) are equipping armored vehicles with three-layer protection against drones. The battalion commander, Lieutenant Colonel Evgeny Chepanko, told Krasnaya Zvezda about this.

He noted that at the site for the repair of self-propelled artillery installations (ACS), specialists are restoring 2S7M Malka self-propelled guns and 2S19 Msta-S howitzers. Also in rembat, the technique receives anti-dragon protection.

"The first layer is an anti—drone chain-link mesh reinforced with rubber-technical products, the second is sand, and the third is armored plates. All this helps to save the lives of the crew," explained the battalion commander.

In April, Izvestia reported that soldiers of the tank division of the Russian military group Center had equipped the T-72B3M tank with a design to protect the upper hemisphere from drones. The "barbecue" with dynamic protection was supplemented with a "dome" made of fiberglass reinforcement. The drone may become entangled in the nets or spring off them.
