OREANDA-NEWS Western countries and other states that have encroached on Russia's assets should unfreeze them without putting forward any conditions. This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, quoted by TASS.

Vladimir Putin's press secretary commented on London's statement that the UK will not return the frozen Russian funds until Russia agrees to pay "compensation" to Ukraine.

According to him, otherwise these states violate all norms and rules and act contrary not only to their domestic legislation, but also to international law, the Kremlin representative summed up.

Earlier, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev said that the freezing of Russian assets undermined confidence in the dollar in the world. In the "quiet offices" of different countries, they have been discussing for a long time that this could happen to them, the politician explained.
