OREANDA-NEWSIn 2020, the Russian quality agency intends to compare domestic and imported wines sold in Russian stores. This is stated in the message of the department.

“We will compare imported wines with Russian ones and present consumers with a general rating of the best multi-run wines. The department’s experts are confident that Russian multi-run wines will show excellent results compared to imported ones, contrary to consumer myths about the poor quality of Russian wines”, the agency said in a statement.

The main importers of wine to Russia are Spain, Italy, Georgia, France and Abkhazia. When buying imported wine, experts of the Roskachestvo recommend carefully studying not only the main label, but also the second one, which is located on the back of the bottle, to make sure the origin of the product. Sometimes it happens that one country is indicated on the front of the label, for example, Germany, while the real address of the production, which may be in a completely different country, is indicated on the back label, the agency warned.
