OREANDA-NEWS  Representatives of the Russian diplomatic mission in South Korea, employees of Russian foreign institutions and compatriots with their families on Victory Day honored the memory of the fallen by laying flowers at the monument to sailors from the Varyag cruiser and the Koreets gunboat in the South Korean city of Incheon, RIA Novosti correspondent reports.

The Russian delegation, together with compatriots, laid flowers at the monument to the sailors of the Varyag and Koreats on Thursday morning and took memorable photos.

The event was attended by Valery Guenkov, Counselor-Envoy of the Embassy, Nikolai Marchenko, Military attache at the Russian Embassy in the Republic of Korea, and Chong Hong, Honorary Consul General of Russia in Incheon.

"Unfortunately, fascists, neo-Nazis of all stripes are rising again in many countries, gaining strength, and our soldiers, our people again have to fight back against Nazism, fight, sacrifice themselves, shed blood for the peace and security of our Homeland," the diplomat noted.

He added that today, by bringing flowers to the monument, Russians honor the memory of all those who fought, at the front or in the rear, to ensure the freedom and security of our country and future generations.
