OREANDA-NEWSThe Russian Embassy in the Czech Republic rejected attempts to “give a political tone” to the fact of administrative changes in its official address in Prague, as is done in publications of local media with reference to the republic’s Foreign Ministry. The corresponding comment was posted on Saturday on the page of the diplomatic mission on Facebook.

The square near Kashtany, on which the embassy was located, was renamed by the authorities of the Czech capital on Boris Nemtsov Square on February 27. The Prague City Hall then notified the diplomatic mission that it was assigned the address of the consular department on Korunovacni Street.

The diplomatic mission recently notified the Czech Foreign Ministry of its decision with a corresponding note. “We are surprised by the fact that the Czech Foreign Ministry so hastily made public the content of this note, which was exclusively technical in nature. It seems that they are intentionally trying to give this story a political sound”, the commentary emphasizes. The diplomatic mission remains in its building and does not move anywhere, it is specified in the document.
