OREANDA-NEWS   Russia's GDP in 2022 decreased less than predicted: by 2.1 percent, according to Rosstat data.

According to the first estimate of the department, this figure amounted to 151 455.6 billion rubles at current prices.
"The index of the physical volume of GDP relative to 2021 amounted to 97.9 percent. The GDP deflator index for 2022 in relation to the prices of 2021 amounted to 14.3 percent," the document says.

Last September, the Ministry of Economic Development predicted a decline in the Russian economy in the whole year by 2.9 percent, and the Central Bank — by 2.5 percent.

The Central Bank spoke about the risks to the growth of the Russian economy Rosstat clarified that the reason for the decline in GDP was the reduction in the index of the physical volume of value added in some industries: wholesale and retail trade; water supply, sanitation, waste collection and disposal, pollution control activities; manufacturing; transportation and storage.

This index has grown in agriculture and forestry, hunting, fishing and fish farming, construction, mining. Also included in this list are hotels and restaurants, public administration, information and communication.
