OREANDA-NEWS  Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law on a single benefit for pregnant women and families with children under 17 whose income is below one regional subsistence minimum per person. The uniform conditions for the payment of child benefits will come into effect from January 1, 2023.

According to the law, the benefit, in particular, will combine: monthly allowance for pregnant women who have registered early;
child care allowance for citizens who are not subject to mandatory social insurance in case of temporary disability and in connection with maternity; monthly payments in connection with the birth or adoption of a child before the age of 3, as well as for children aged 3 to 7 years and 8 to 17 years.

The explanatory note to the law states that when determining the right to benefits, the applicant and his family members have movable and immovable property, income in the form of interest received on deposits (account balances) in banks and other credit organizations, and others are taken into account. If there are several children in the family under the age of 17, the allowance will be assigned to each child.

The amount of the allowance for a woman registered with a medical organization in the early stages of pregnancy and for citizens with children under the age of 17 will be 50%, 75% or 100% of the regional subsistence minimum.
