OREANDA-NEWS  A crew-less catamaran-type vessel capable of running on environmentally friendly fuel, compressed hydrogen, was developed at Sakhalin State University, the head of Rospatent, Yuri Zubov, told RIA Novosti in an interview.

"An urgent direction in the construction of small vessels is the creation of crew-free swimming facilities. And if they also run on environmentally friendly fuels, then this increases their value. Sakhalin State University specialists have developed a catamaran-type transport vessel powered by compressed hydrogen," Zubov said.

According to the head of Rospatent, the design implies fixing the cylinders using detachable joints without welding, which simplifies disassembly and transportation of the hull, as well as storage of the vessel.
