OREANDA-NEWS A detachment of four vessels from the Russian Navy, including the frigate Admiral Gorshkov and the nuclear submarine Kazan, will pay an official visit to the port of Havana from June 12th to 17th, the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced.

According to a communique posted on the ministry's website, the detachment will consist of four ships: the frigate Gorshkov, nuclear submarine Kazan, oil tanker Pashin, and rescue tug Nikolai Chiker. The visit will take place from June 12th to 17th in 2024.

The Cuban government has emphasized that this visit is in line with friendly relations between Cuba and Russia and strictly adheres to international regulations. They have also stated that none of the vessels carry nuclear weapons and their presence will not pose a threat to the region.During their stay, the Russian sailors will carry out a program of events. This includes courtesy visits to the Commander of the Navy and the Governor of Havana, as well as visits to places of historical and cultural interest, according to a statement from the Foreign Ministry.
